Electromagnets & Permanent electromagnets

The main advantage of an electromagnet over a permanent magnet is that the magnetic field can be quickly stopped or changed by controlling the electric current, unlike a permanent magnet that needs no power and its magnetic field remains.

Semi standard electromagnets

ABS can produce “semi” standard electromagnets, meaning minor changes to the electromagnets according to customer’s requirements. External coating, current, wiring, epoxy color and more. These products are produced according to customer order and are not “on the shelve”.

Custom made electromagnets

are designed & manufactured in-house and are one of ABS special field of expertise. Whenever a special size, magnetic field or force, higher heat resistance (etc.) is required - we can help you and design and manufacture custom made electromagnet according to customer specific requirement. Needless to say, we will be happy to assist your company R&D whenever we are required. We can produce prototypes, small volume or large quantities of electromagnets.

Finite Element Method Analysis

Custom made magnets, whenever a more precise or special magnetic field is required by the customer can be designed with FEM. ABS’s engineers can cater to a wide range of needs, offering unique magnetic solutions, and design required magnetic properties for the custom made electromagnet.

Finite Element Method analysis (FEM/FEA), electro-magnetic field motion mapping, magnetic field mapping, 2D and 3D modeling, magnetic properties at extreme temperatures, flux density calculations, Gauss measurements and physical strength of the product. Finally, we offer an optimization of the design based on the results.

Round Electromagnets

generate a magnetic field when supplied with power, These electromagnets; sometimes called “holding electromagnets” are used, for example, for holding or carrying magnetic metals. Generally speaking, this type of electromagnets is used when the magnetic field is required to work (magnetic field on) up to 50% of time.

Permanent Electromagnets

have a permanent magnetic field, but when supplied with power, the magnetic field is neutralized. this type of electromagnets is used when the magnetic field is required to work (magnetic field on) most of the time, and neutralized once in a while (for example a door lock).
